- With provincial and federal elections on the horizon, it’s important for businesses to understand the complex third-party election rules set-out in the Canada Elections Act and the Ontario Election Finances Act. These rules will be of particular interest to businesses that engage members of the public, via social media or conventional advertising, on politically-charged issues.

Biography:
Kyle Morrow, B.A. Hons., J.D., is a lawyer at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP. His practice is primarily focused on political law. Kyle advises clients on their compliance obligations at the municipal, provincial and federal levels of government in the areas of lobbying, conflicts of interest, campaign finance, anti-bribery and corruption, and whistleblowing. Kyle also defends clients who are being investigated or prosecuted for political offences, including bribery, fraud, illegal lobbying and influence peddling. He is currently a member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee (SOGIC). He has volunteered on election campaigns in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.
